Four Polish companies want to become MTZ dealers

Four Polish companies intend to become dealers of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), it was learnt from head of the engineering department of the company Vasily Gnedchik. 

The negotiations with potential partners were held during the National Exhibition of in Warsaw . “Four companies voiced their willingness to sell and provide maintenance service to MTZ machines in . They suggest selling up to 2,000-2,500 tractors a year,” Vasily Gnedchik said. 

According to the MTZ representative, used to export thousands of tractors to , but over January-May 2009, the supplies plummeted, only about 30 tractors were shipped to over this time, which is a matter of great concern for the company. This is why MTZ signed protocols of intent with potential dealers; supply contracts may be signed within the next few weeks. 

The participation in the National Exhibition of Belarus in Warsaw was fruitful for Minsk Engines Plant (MMZ), too. According to deputy head of the MMZ foreign economic links department Viktor Kotionov, a Polish manufacturer of generating units is interested in Belarusian engines. The sides agreed that MMZ designers will produce experimental samples for the Polish company which will consider the possibility to fit its machines with MMZ engines. Some Polish companies would like to trade in the Belarusian engines. The Belarusian side will continue negotiations with these companies to determine the price. 

According to Viktor Kotionov, at present MMZ supplies its engines to the Polish company Farmer (a tractors manufacturer). Over the five months this year, MMZ delivered engines worth $185,000. 

Lidagroprommash intends to increase the export of pneumatic universal sowing-machines. During the National Exhibition in Warsaw, Lidagroprommash and a Polish company reached an agreement on the possible supply of around 10 sowing-machines to . In the near future, representatives of the Polish company are expected to visit the Lida-based company to get familiar with its production facilities. 

Polish companies also showed their interest in the goods produced by the Integral company. It pertains to microchips for plastic cards, sensors for agricultural equipment and other products. 

Over 130 companies attended the National Exhibition of Belarus which was held in Warsaw on June 24-26.
