Finnish company intends to set up metalwork enterprise in Grodno

The Finnish company Metal Fininvest intends to set up a metalwork enterprise in Grodno, Chairman of the Grodno City Executive Committee Boris Kozelkov noted summing up the results of the 1st International Investment Forum which was held in Grodno on 1-2 October.

According to the Grodno Mayor, the first experience of holding the international investment forum in Grodno was successful.

Attending the Grodno forum were representatives of government authorities and business circles from Russian Dzerzhinsk, Vologda, Kursk, Moscow, Polish Suwalki and Bialystok, Lithuanian Alytus, Vilnius and Druskininkai and also businessmen from Estonia, Finland, diplomats of Lithuania, Poland, Germany and Hungary.

“We have demonstrated that Grodno has the resources which are necessary for the investor to believe in us and invest capital in the economy of our city,” Boris Kozelkov noted. Among the basic attractive factors for the investment activity he noted the high-skilled personnel, the existence of vacant plots of land, the developed transport communication network, the legislative base which foresees considerable privileges for investors.

During the forum, Grodno and Lithuanian Alytus signed the agreement on partnership in application for grants within the framework of the European Trans-Border Cooperation Project “Latvia-Lithuania-Belarus”. The Grodnoinvest Free Economic Zone and the Vilnius Club of Businessmen signed the cooperation agreement.

During the work of the contact-cooperation exchange held within the framework of the forum, businessmen discussed possible projects.
