Belarus, Khabarovsk Krai ink protocol on cooperation

A protocol on trade and economic, sci-tech and cultural cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Khabarovsk Krai, the Russian Federation, for 2008-2010 was signed in Minsk on April 1.

The document was signed by Viktor Burya, the Vice-Premier of Belarus, and Alexander Levintal, the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Kahbarovsk Krai, the minister for economic development and foreign links.

The protocol was inked during a visit of the governmental delegation of Khabarovsk Krai to Belarus on March 31-April 3 to promote further intensification and strengthening of mutual cooperation.

Khabarovsk Krai can become a logistics center for Belarusian goods in the Far East, Alexander Levintal, the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Kahbarovsk Krai, the Russian Federation, the minister for economic development and foreign links, said after the talks with Viktor Burya, the Vice-Premier of Belarus, in the House of Government on April 1.

The Russian guest noted that today the trade and economic relations between Belarus and Khabarovsk Krai have been extending their format. “Khabarovsk Krai has achieved an opportunity to purchase Belarusian products, such as trolleybuses, lifts, tractors and other equipment. Belarusian goods are well-known at the Russian market. Belarusian producers are ready to increase the deliveries of their products to the Russian region,” Alexander Levintal said. According to him, that will give a possibility to considerably augment the mutual trade. Besides, joint productions set up in Khabarovsk Krai are also quite promising for advancing Belarusian products to other oblasts of the Far East region.

Viktor Burya, the Vice-Premier of Belarus, informed that the two sides considered the schemes of deliveries of the Belarusian products to Khabarovsk Krai. The meeting reached an agreement to work without middlepersons by means of extending the deliveries of the Belarusian goods from the central regions of Russia to the Far East region. That will reduce the price and make the goods more affordable, Viktor Burya explained.
