Belarus, Czech Republic to create joint innovation center

Belarus and Czech Republic are going to create a joint innovation center, it was learnt from the State Committee for Science and Technologies of Belarus.

The Belarusian-Czech innovation center will facilitate the development of innovative activities in both countries and the introduction of new technologies into manufacturing processes. Belarusian and Czech companies will be able to use the center’s services for joint research and development work and promotion of high tech products to foreign markets.

The center will take part in the formation of the joint Belarusian-Czech organizations for commercialization and employment of sci-tech researches, and render assistance in attraction of foreign investments for joint projects.

The establishment of the center was discussed by Igor Voitov, Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus, and Pavel Sveida, Secretary General of Innovation Commission of the Czech Republic, at the recent meeting in Minsk. The sides discussed cooperation in the exchange of sci-tech information and attraction of investments in Belarus for the development of new technologies. In addition, the sides considered the prospects of joint ventures. The center is to assist in their establishment.

The project on the creation of innovation center will be implemented in conformity with protocol of the first session of the Belarusian-Czech joint commission for economic, industrial and sci-tech cooperation. The protocol was signed in April 2009.
