AdvertisementsCataloguesNewsBelarus-Ukraine trade may reach $8bn, Vladimir Semashko saysIn January-April 2010 the trade turnover between Belarus and Ukraine made up $1.1 billion, that is 44% up on the same period 2009, said First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko at a meeting between governmental delegations of the two countries in Gomel on 29 May.In his words, positive trends in the development of bilateral trade suggest that in 2010 the trade turnover may total no less than $4 billion. But it is not the limit, the figure may reach $7 billion or even $8 billion, Vladimir Semashko believes. The establishment of joint companies that will sell their goods to third countries, and industrial cooperation will contribute to the increase in bilateral trade. The sides signed the relevant Plan of Joint Action to achieve the top priority goals of Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation in Gomel on 29 May.
