User LoginArchivesAdvertisementsCataloguesNewsBelarus President attending EurAsEC Interstate Council session in Astana Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is taking part in a high-level session of the EurAsEC Interstate Council in Astana, Kazakhstan, BelTA has learnt.Opening the session Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev named it symbolic that the session is taking place in Astana just before marking the 10th anniversary of signing the EurAsEC Treaty (the document was signed on 10 October 2000 in Astana). “Kazakhstan as a receiving country took every effort to create friendly working conditions. I hope our today’s meeting will be held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust what is important for taking key decisions on further development of our community,” he stated. The agenda of the high-level session of the EurAsEC Interstate Council (the Customs Union supreme body) includes a report of the senior secretary of the Customs Union Commission on the single customs territory within the EurAsEC. The heads of state will consider the implementation of the second stage of the Customs Union formation, take stock of the progress made in the implementation of the action plan on the single economic space between Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, look into the Customs Union international agreements. The agenda of the 27th high-level session of the EurAsEC Interstate Council also comprises the EurAsEC action plan on mitigating the consequences of the global financial crisis, a draft new wording of the EurAsEC Statute. The participants of the session are to consider the EurAsEC budget performance in 2009 and approve the draft budget for 2011. Back to "All news" | Print version
