User LoginArchivesAdvertisementsCataloguesNewsOver 70 companies join UN Global Compact in BelarusMore than 70 Belarusian companies signed the Global Compact thus confirming their desire to adopt sustainable and social responsibility policies, Taisia Eletskikh, the chief advisor to the UN Global Compact initiative in Belarus, told reporters.“Belarusian companies are starting to understand that you cannot be socially irresponsible in today’s world,” she said. The companies take part in the partnership telemedicine projects, create warranty fund for small business, assist the development of a healthy diet system in schools and take part in many other projects. The Global Compact, a United Nations initiative, was launched in 2000. In Belarus the initiative got exposure in 2006. Global Compact was presented in Belarus on 20 December 2006. Then the first group of Belarusian companies got certificates on accession to the international initiative. The campaign, Socially Responsible Business for the Sustainable Development of Small Towns, was launched in 2008 to raise investment for small towns. www.belta.by Back to "All news" | Print version
