User LoginArchivesAdvertisementsCataloguesNewsBelarus to host Red Cross Youth Leader International SchoolRepresentatives of six countries will be gathered by the Red Cross Youth Leader International School which will work in the Minsk District on 26-30 July, BelTA learned from Irina Karanchuk, spokeswoman of the Belarusian Red Cross Society.Some 85 young people from all the regions of Belarus, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine will share Red Cross activity practices. Volunteers-trainers, volunteers-leaders and experienced specialists will give master-classes for the participants of the international school. The main goal of the school is to develop the leadership practices among the youth, involve the young people in solving society’s problems, strengthen friendship and cooperation. The foreign volunteers will tell about the work of their national Red Cross societies, discuss the trans-border cooperation. They will take part in a party of national cultures and a forum-theater. The International Committee of the Red Cross, the Belarus Office of the International Organization for Migration, the Denmark Red Cross Society, the Belarus Office of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have helped the local authorities organize the work of the Red Cross Youth Leader International School. The voluntary national public association Belarusian Red Cross Society is the only public non-governmental union which has a unique status and a recognized emblem. The oldest charity organization was founded in 1921. It is funded at the expense of donations of people and organizations. The fundamental principles of the organization are humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntariness, unity and universality. The organization independently and jointly with the state authorities organizes events to protect life and health and to relieve suffering of people, to render medical-socio assistance to the population including during emergencies and armed conflicts.
