AdvertisementsCataloguesNewsSugar production in Belarus projected to increase 16.4% in 2010 In 2010 sugar production in Belarus is projected to increase by 16.4% to 883,900 tonnes in 2010, BelTA learnt from the Belgospishcheprom concern. The sugar refineries account for 25.5% of the total commodity output of the companies affiliated with the concern.In H1 the production of white sugar totaled 322,500 tonnes, up 1.6 times from the same period of 2009. Sales made up 464,100 tonnes (up 1.4 times). Domestic sales amounted to 188,000 tonnes (up 11.2%), exports – to 276,000 tonnes (up 1.7 times), including exports to Russia - 106,300 tonnes, to other countries - 170,000 tonnes. The Belarusian sugar refiners increased the output of packaged sugar by 16.8% in H1 as against January-June last year to 59,170 tonnes. The companies continuously work on new additions to their product lines. For example, Gorodeya sugar refinery has produced 3,100 tonnes of sugar molded in the shape of cubes without additives, with cinnamon and vitamin C.
