Alexander Lukashenko believes in creation powerful transnational corporations in the Single Economic Space

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes it is necessary to create powerful transnational corporations in the Single Economic Space. The view is laid down by Alexander Lukashenko’s article published by the website of the Russian newspaper Izvestia. The article covers the view of the Belarusian head of state on the Eurasian Union, BelTA has learned.

“There is no need to artificially create enterprises with the same functions while the demand can be satisfied by existing enterprises at much lower costs with high quality. Don’t we lose money by competing with each other on foreign markets? Instead of ‘eating each other’ it would be wise to enable conditions for the emergence of powerful competitive transnational corporations and their advancement to third countries’ markets,” believes Alexander Lukashenko.

In his words, it is necessary to lay down the foundation for the future modernization of the economies and for assimilating innovations. “We are approaching it already via concrete large-scale science-intensive projects, namely the joint construction of the nuclear power plant in Belarus, the joint creation and launch of space satellites, creation of the systems to control them,” said the President.

“But the advancement is too slow. While the leadership of our countries has a common strong view in favor of the integration, government officials at all levels should act faster,” remarked Alexander Lukashenko.

He believes that “maximum certainly depends on the largest integration partner – Russia”.

It is necessary to make all the integration structures – the Union State, the Customs Union, the Single Economic Space, the Eurasian Economic Community, the Commonwealth of Independent States – strive for integration through deeds. This approach should be part of everyday cooperation practices. “People of our countries want it now,” said the Belarusian head of state.
