Russian investor to set up logistics center in Orsha District

A Russian investor would like to take part in the construction of a transport and logistics center in Orsha District, BelTA learnt from Executive Director of the Social and Economic Stabilization Fund of the Leningrad Oblast Government Yuri Tsoi.

The investment project was suggested by Orsha District Executive Committee. “I hope that our cooperation will be a success; we realize the importance of logistics centers for our cooperation,” Yuri Tsoi said. He emphasized that Leningrad Oblast is ready to provide Belarusian investors with the same opportunities in Leningrad Oblast. “We are already building two centers; another one might be set up as well,” he added.

The transport and logistics center in Orsha District is to be constructed near the highway M1/E30 Brest-Minsk-Russian border close to the main gas pipeline.

Another $3 million project to construct a logistics center was presented at the second international forum “Innovative business – investments into the future” that was held in Vitebsk on 21-22 October. This logistics center will be built three kilometers from Miory close to the border with Russia and Latvia. The project was initiated by the Miory District Executive Committee.

The forum was aimed to step up cooperation between regions, towns, and economic operators, boost export and investments, forge new ties, present innovative ideas and projects. The business forum is organized by the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.
