The Belarusian-Russian consultations on cooperation in the gas sector for the period until 2025 are on schedule, Russian Vice Premier Arkady Dvorkovich told the media on 17 June, BelTA has learned. Arkady Dvorkovich stressed that the parties reached all agreements on current cooperation in the gas sector. "We are just still to agree on the principles of future cooperation for the period until 2025. The corresponding consultations are underway. We are on schedule," he noted. After the session of the Council of Ministers of the Union State in St Petersburg Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said that Belarus had already submitted its proposals to Russia on the development of a common gas market. Russian partners are considering them. "We proceed from the fact that the price for gas should be calculated in Russian rubles starting from 2020. This is our proposal. We hope that the partners will accept it, and we will be able to reach an agreement," he said. Andrei Kobyakov noted that at the meeting of the heads of state of Belarus and Russia in St. Petersburg on 3 April, the parties were able to resolve all the key issues of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector. Gas prices were agreed for three years - 2017, 2018 and 2019. There is a principal agreement that by the end of 2017 the parties will agree on common principles for the operation of the common gas market that will be launched in the Eurasian Economic Union in 2025.
