Minoblmyasomolprom products now available in 25 countries

This year the number of countries where Minsk oblast meat and dairy products are available has increased up to 25, it was learned from Leonid Pavlovich, Head of the Marketing and Sales Department of the Minoblmyasomolprom enterprise.

In January-September the list grew larger with 15 countries, for instance, Singapore, Philippines, and New Zealand. Besides, Minoblmyasomolprom exports its make to Poland, Germany, China, Latvia, Lithuania, the USA, the UK, the Netherlands, France and others. In January-September overseas sales totaled $189.3 million, including $133.6 million in dairy industry sales and $55.7 million in meat industry sales. Export to the CIS totaled $168.1 million, non-CIS states — $21.2 million.

Russia accounted for 79.5% of the supplies ($150.5 million), 9.2% down on the same period of 2008. Export to other countries grew by 9.2% to $38.8 million. Sales of whole milk products shot up by 310% to exceed 8,000 tonnes along with sales of butter (59.9% up to 18,000 tonnes), casein (55.3% up over 4,000 tonnes), dry skimmed milk (36.9% up to over 14,000 tonnes), and hard cheeses (18.8% up to almost 14,000 tonnes).

Minoblmyasomolprom’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $204.2 million, 90.4% as against the same period of last year. The foreign trade surplus totaled $174.4 million.

Retail sales of meat and milk products exceeded $29.2 million (78.6% up). The trading house Minskoblprodukt accounted for over 80% of the sales.

Leonid Pavlovich underlined that Minoblmyasomolprom companies are in negotiations with foreign partners working on the possibility of setting up joint processing and trading companies. All sales methods are used. The enterprises take an active part in fairs abroad.

The enlargement of dairy factories this year was another measure meant to improve the competitive ability. The Molodechno dairy factory grew larger with Naroch, Vileika, and Volozhin town dairy factories, while the Borisov dairy factory grew larger with the Kholopenichi creamery, the Lyuban cheese making plant was merged with the Soligorsk dairy factory. The step will allow the companies to work together to promote products onto foreign markets, ruling out parallel operation and enhancing their specialization, remarked Leonid Pavlovich.

Minoblmyasomolprom unites seven dairy factories, their branches and three meat-packing plants. The largest enterprises are the Borisov meat-packing plant, the company Kletskaya Krynachka, the Slutsk creamery, and the Slutsk meat-packing plant. The total capacity of milk-processing enterprises is close to one million tonnes of milk per annum. Minoblmyasomolprom offers over 220 dairy product titles, including 18 varieties of hard rennet cheeses, butter, dry skimmed milk, casein, ice cream, concentrated milk, cottage cheese and other whole milk products. The product range of Minoblmyasomolprom’s meat-processing enterprises exceeds 400 titles.
